Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry

Soil science is the study of soil as a natural resource on the surface of the Earth including soil formation, classification and mapping; physical, chemical, biological, and fertility properties of soils; and these properties in relation to the use and management of soils . The purpose is designed to integrate lecture subject matter with hands-on experience, the laboratory primarily serves to expose students to soil and soil related environmental issues. Activities will include soil description and analysis, soil and landscape assessment, nutrient assessment and management, composting, soil system modeling and soil information and interpretation.
