DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURAL ECONOMICS

• ACAR Agricultural Economics department is envisaged to provide excellent and high quality education in the field of agricultural economics, conduct policy oriented research in frontier areas covering agricultural and rural development issues.
• The mandate of the department is to facilitate the farming community with consultancy services, trainings, exhibition, etc., for economic upliftment and to widen and encourage the entrepreneurship skills among students through hands-on training and field exposure visits.
• The major courses for under graduate programme includes Fundamentals of Agricultural Economics, Farm Management, Production & Resource Economics, Agricultural Marketing, Trade & prices and Agricultural Finance & Cooperation.
• The department organized Financial Awareness and Consumer Training program to the students.
• The department is engaged in applied, policy, and problem-solving research in agriculture and allied sectors covering various thematic areas like market, trade, finance, agri-business, livelihood, natural resource, institutions, growth and development.
• Different research projects were carried out, covering areas like production economics, agricultural marketing and agricultural finance.
• Currently, our faculties are involved in organizing FPOs and market related issues.
• The department is having an Economics Laboratory with 30 computers.
