Open Day 2019

            As part of the academic programme, open day for the year 2019 was conducted at   Adhiyamaan College of Agriculture and Research, Athimugam, one of the affiliated College to TNAU, Coimbatore. Earlier on receipt of circular wide publicity has been made to appraise the Principal and Head Masters of the Higher Secondary schools located in the Krishnagiri and Dharmapuri districts.

          Publications regarding the conduct of open day on 05.04.2019 at ACAR, Athimugam was also made through dailies.  The College has witnessed the overwhelming response to see that more than 130 students from the adjoining schools visited the campus with teachers and parents.

          The Open day introduction started with registration  of the students in which  Dr.J.Kabariel, Assistant Professor of Horticulture and Academic Coordinator in charge took active part.. Dr.H.Vijayaraghavan, Dean i\c of the College elaborated the prospects of Agriculture system, avenues for higher education and employment, preparations for various competitive examinations. Mr. P. Kalamegam, Executive Manager of the College narrated the physical facilities and  living condition of the students within the campus. Thee NSS activities which formed part of education was explained by Mr.R.Harish, Assistant Professor of Agricultural Rural Management who is also NSS coordinator. Dr.D.Rajarajan, Staff Advisor made arrangements  for the gathering. Dr. S.Janani, Assistant Professor of Agricultural Extension has contributed for the preparations of College Brochure, ACAR News Letter and arranged for photographing the events. Dr.S.Sathiyaraj, Assistant Professor of Crop Physiology who is in charge of web and internet management of the College has prepared a video show with Drone Technology which was appreciated by the visitors.

        Video clipping uploaded to You tube was sent to the Dean (Agri), Controller of Examinations and Technical and personal Officer to the Vice Chancellor. The students were appraised of the modalities of online registration and online counselling and informed that the students can visit the College at any time for any help for application and admission procedures. The College Computer Laboratory can be used by the students. The various infra structure facilities available including laboratories, experimental farms, poly houses, Animal Husbandry unit and play grounds were shown by field visits. In general the response is very good and students, teachers  and parents have widely acclaimed the facilities, good man power strength numbering  33   faculty and expressed satisfaction over the arrangements. The students now got clear idea of where to go for higher education and  we predict that there would be  good number of students opting for Agriculture Courses.
